a phone call to the Gwinnett County Historical Society
March-27-2008
(the report is from Roger Cruce FL)
somebody called his mother back in the early 80s, they said, they have run into the Cruce Cemetery with a Front End Loader putting in a High Voltage Transmission Line,
ok, been checking this out for about 3 days, made a call to the historical society today, talked to alice Mckade, same lady i talked to back in the middle 80s, she said, the cemetery was much larger until the county got started Grading around in there
when they found out, they were digging in a Cemetery?
Then the Historical Society was Called and was able to save a small portion of it on top of the hill, a tombstone was found in a mans back yard of a williamson cruse as reported to by alice Mckade, they done research on this williamson cruse and said he was given a land lot in this or that area in or about 1827, but did not say the tombstone came from the cemetery.
(Found in 1985, a broken stone reading)
