PROJECT RockWell Drill Press Finished, 3ph motor inside the case was replaced with 1ph 1/2hp motor outside the case, has Jacobs 1/2 Super Ballbearing Chuck, machine light bracket was made and installed on the inside where the original motor went, (December-26-2006)
PROJECT RockWell Drill Press Finished, Bracket for ele motor took a little thought as the only machine part was the bottom of the head case, after some alignment and careful measurement, window was cut in the side of the case for belt drive, belt pulley was machined for the shaft on the inside of the machine, feed lever shaft was machined and brought through the case with a cut off extension from a smaller press to incorporate a return spring for the hand lever, original spring is broke and missing, as the return spring is from a smaller press, we had to machine a bracket and put another helper return spring inside the front head case, tricky bracket was manchined with a bearing for the feed shaft, as the head housing is not square, trim had to be scribed machined and placed on 2 oval shaped sides (top and Bottom) and one flat side (front) of the shaft bracket, lamp and motor switch is setup in this fashion and on the left in this type as it's the fastest and quickest to turn on and off with ease that i have ever seen
